Victoria Stockley

Clinical Animal Behaviourist in Northamptonshire

My journey

I grew up around all sorts of animals, from dogs and cats to cows and horses. My number one passion has always been spending time with animals, learning from them and simply enjoying their unique authenticity. I always wanted to know more, so I went to university to study biology.

Having worked as a veterinary nurse for many years, helping both pets and people in difficult times, I understand how much people care for their animal family and how difficult it can be when things are not perfect. Above all, I strive to repair and boost owner-pet relationships and facilitate a happy, fulfilled household.

I then specialised in behaviour via an MSc (merit) in Clinical Animal Behaviour from the University of Lincoln. I have also completed the Advanced Certificate in Dog Training Instruction from the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, as well as attending numerous other CPD events from well-respected behaviourists, such as Chirag Patel and Sarah Heath.

How I work

Animal welfare, alongside safety, is always my top priority. I only use reward-based training, based on the latest methods. This is designed to help your pet to make the right choice in accordance with your, and your family's, wishes. I am experienced in training dogs, cats and horses, and have a special interest in reptiles.

Why you can trust me

I am a Full Member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors, having been assessed against the Animal Behaviour and Training Council Clinical Animal Behaviour standards. This means I adhere to a strict Code of Conduct regarding ethical and effective practice and you will often be able to claim for my services under your pet insurance (please always check policy wording first). I am fully insured with Protectivity Insurance.

As I believe in continuous development, I am also a Candidate Member of the Fellowship of Animal Behaviour Clinicians.

My other passions

In my spare time I am usually watching animals as I am endlessly fascinated by their behaviour but I also like to climb very small mountains and practice various needlecrafts. I also love a period drama but my favourite film is the Aristocats because…Everybody wants to be a cat!

I cannot recommend Vicky enough...our dog is a much happier dog

I cannot recommend Vicky enough. She really worked hard to get to know our situation and was a massive advocate for us with the vets when we needed to try different things. She understood that as a family some things would and wouldn’t work for us but supported us throughout. Vicky was the second behaviourist we had been involved with and was by far the most help. Our dog is now a much happier dog and we are learning to live in harmony with each other. Thank you”. Kyla, Daventry
